Koay Wan Ern began her musical journey at a tender age of 3 with exposure to group lessons of music appreciation. Discovering her talent in music, she progressed to violin lessons at age of 6, and piano lessons at age 7. She passed both violin and piano ABRSM Grade 8 in 2012. At the age of 14, she achieved Distinction in LTCL Piano Recital. At the age of 17, she obtained her FTCL for Piano Recital. At the age of 16, she obtained ATCL for violin recital and after one year, she obtained her ABRSM Grade 8 for singing.

Wan Ern’s love for music has seen her performing publicly since her kindergarten days. Her public performances are not confined to the local stages but have taken her across ocean to the United Kingdom in 2010 when she was 12 years old. Wan Ern was selected to attend the “Overseas Malaysian Winter Piano Academy” (OMWPA) in December 2010.

Wan Ern was selected to perform for “Young Malaysian Go Classic” in November 2013-a full orchestra for young musicians, organized by Malaysian Belgium Luxembourg Business Council in conjunction with celebration of Beligum King’s Birthday.  Wan Ern joined UCSI University in January 2016, Institute of Music (Imus). She won the “Best Etude Award” in the International Piano Festival & Competition June 2016.
